Home Injury Control
Program consists of community presentations throughout CIAA’s six-county geographic service area. Provider utilizes a Fall Prevention Booklet, which includes:
- factors which can lead to a fall;
- exercises for prevention of falls; and
- other ways to prevent a fall.
Provider also conducts in-home functional fall assessment of person’s bathrooms for persons who have fallen or who are at risk of falling. Assessments are conducted by clinically trained staff, occupational therapists and/or physical therapists, to assess the mobility and the environments of the individuals at risk of falling.
Participants identified as needing assistive devices in the bathroom are referred to the Title III-B Residential and Repair Program for equipment.
