Mental Health-Depression Screening

Older persons will be screened to identify depression in at-risk elders, provide the skills to combat the inactivity that often accompanies depression, and facilitate access to treatment.

The provider uses the Healthy IDEAS (Identifying Depression, Empowering Activities for Seniors) Program which:

  • screens participants for depression and assessing their severity;
  • educates older adults and caregivers about depression;
  • links older adults to mental health providers; and
  • empowers older adults to manage their depression through a behavioral activation approach that encourages involvement in meaningful activities.

This service is available throughout CIAA’s six-county geographic service area.
